William “Bill” Coburn Weldon Jr., 81, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, August 1, 2022. Bill was a leader in the Boy Scouts and loved to play baseball.  He graduated high school in 1960 from Washington High School, East Chicago, Indiana.  Bill worked on the ore boats when he was in the Merchant Marines.  Also, he served in the Indiana National Guard and the US Army.  He went to Officer Canidate School (OCS) and was a 2nd Lieutenant.  In 1963, he married Virginia Krivickas, they had two children, Billy and Victoria. He was an auditor for the Clark Oil Company and then owned and operated gas stations in Michigan City and Waratah, Indiana.  Bill graduated from Real Estate School in 1975. And in 1978, he became a real estate broker and opened his own business.  His real estate career lasted 40 years.  He moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee in 2017 for his retirement.  Bill was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.  He was devoted to his family, friends and work.  Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend.  His kindness, honesty and friendly ways were just a few of his many attributes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Leatha Weldon; sisters, Margaret (John) Haluska and Norma (Steve) Kally; brothers, Jack (Mardel)Weldon and Robert Weldon.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Virginia Weldon; son, William “Billy” (Marjorie) Weldon; daughter, Victoria (Daryl) Skorupa; eight grandchildren: Brian Skorupa, Kayla Pape, Ashley Skorupa, Logan and Roman Skorupa, Nolan Weldon, Tenny Weldon and Tara Price; five great-grandchildren: Kaydin, Leona and Casimir Weldon, Landon and Vincent Price; sister-in-law, Joy Weldon.

A memorial mass will be 11:00 am Saturday, August 6, 2022 at St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Charlie Burton officiating.
