William L. “Bill” Fairbanks, 58, of Chattanooga, passed away November 27, 2017.  He graduated from Red Bank High School class of 1977. Bill was a Golden Glove Boxing Champion.  He played college baseball at Tennessee Tech and Chattanooga State. He was a TSSAA football official for 33 years, umpire and softball coach for 15 years, and coached Red Bank Dixie Youth baseball. Bill enjoyed spending time with “them babies”, fishing, watching football and NASCAR.  He was a member of The Ministry Center Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buster and Inez Fairbanks; sister, Freda Keylon; brothers, Gene Fairbanks, and Ray Fairbanks.
Survivors include his daughters: Casey Pike (Chris), and Stacey Dyer (Bruce); grandbabies: Eli, Emily, and Jones Pike, Bruce Dyer Jr.; Forever Friend, Darla Fairbanks; Fiance, Kim Harkins and her son Jay; siblings: Skipper Fairbanks, Frankie Smith(Leon) Randy Fairbanks (Marty); sister-in-law, Jacque Fairbanks.
A Celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday in the Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 11:00-2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Rev. Jim Milligan and Rev. Jimmy Talley will officiate. The family will have a private burial.
