January 30, 1940 ~ September 6, 2021 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Tribute

Sally M (Aiken) Bardwell, age 81, of Deltona, FL, met her beloved Jesus when she went home to heaven on September 6, 2021 following a brief illness.
Sally was born in Ware, Ma to John and Marjorie (Plante) Aiken. She grew up in North Brookfield, Ma, the eldest of 7 children. She graduated from North Brookfield High School. After raising her 6 children, Sally fulfilled her life long dream of becoming a Registered Nurse when she graduated from Daytona Beach Community College with an AAS degree. Following graduation, Sally worked as a floor nurse on the Oncology unit at Florida Hospital Orlando until she reluctantly retired at the age of 73

Sally filled her retirement years with the things that made her happy; children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, minor league baseball games with her friends, traveling all over the world, CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship) ministries at her local public schools, choir and gatherings with her beloved church family at Volusia County Baptist Church.

Sally loved sharing with others her passion for Jesus and introducing Him as Savior. She began that journey by leading her children to understanding that all are sinners and in need of forgiveness from Jesus. She then taught us how to commit to a life serving the Lord and enjoyed doing the same with her CEF students. Sally enjoyed reading, watching NCIS and Blue Bloods, solving sudoku puzzles and knitting. Music was Sally’s passion as was reading and studying God’s word. She could often be heard belting out one of her favorite songs while in the shower (we heard that’s called a “soap opera??”)!

Sally is survived by her children, Deborah (Mimeault) Adler, Sandra (Mimeault) Wright (Daniel), Paul Mimeault (Kelsey), James Mimeault (Meijun), Judith (Bardwell) Floyd (Robert), Tyler “Joy” (Bardwell) Kittrell, 19 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Rita (Harry) Moritz, Diane Leroux, and Mary Willey, 1 brother, Gary Aiken, Stacie Mimeault, “forever a daughter in my heart” and her “best friend Lea,” as well as several nieces and nephews. Sally is predeceased by her parents, her son Stephen, and 2 brothers, Johnny and Ralph.

Those who knew Sally in life are certain that when she closed her eyes on this side of glory she was greeted by, along with her precious Jesus, many of the thousands of friends and loved ones she influenced for, or led to, Him. We will miss you Mom, but we don’t weep as those who have no hope..... not good bye.... “see you later...”

Burial will be at St Joseph’s Cemetery in North Brookfield, MA, on Saturday September 18, 2021, at 3PM. A celebration of Sally’s life will be held at Volusia County Baptist Church, 261 S Orange Ave, Orange City, FL on September 29, 2021, 3 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to CEF/children’s ministry through giving to Volusia County Baptist Church.
