Robbie Helen Lemmons

Robbie Helen Lemmons departed this world peacefully and surrounded by love at Welcome Home of Chattanooga March 13, 2023. She was a beloved icon in the Welcome Home community, the Queen Bee, and all were grateful for the chance to have her home and hold her close in the final days. 

Robbie was tiny but tough as nails and she didn't suffer fools. She was very proud of the many decades of hard work she put in as a cleaning woman - always exceeding people's expectations for what she could do. In her later years, she loved nothing more than to let one of the many people who adored her pour her a cup of coffee (with cream and more sugar than should have been physically possible) and sit at the table telling stories and listening in for all the best gossip. 

A lot of her favorite stories to tell involved her son, Fred, and his accomplishments as a Marine and a musician. She also loved to brag about snagging a sweet younger man, her boyfriend, Michael. She had too many special friends and adoring fans in the Welcome Home community to name them all, but she adored each and every one. Especially, her friend, Gwen Sanders, who made sure she had everything she needed. Welcome Home was her family and her home and she was our teacher. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Robbie DeSha; father, Paul Desha; and her son, Chris Lemmons

She is survived by her son, Fred (Heather) Lemmons.

There will be a celebration of Robbie's life on what would have been her 90th birthday.
