Peggy Lou Lewis

Peggy Lou Lewis, 90, of Chattanooga went to be with the lord on November 30, 2019. Peggy was a faithful and founding member of Mountain Creek Church of Christ. She had a brief career in retail but her best work was being a loving wife, devoted mother, awesome grandmother and a wonderful friend to so many. Her favorite pastimes were cooking, sewing, camping and doing for others. Peggy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Rex, her parents Treva Standifer Ewton and Howard Hale Ewton; Survivors include, Debra Lewis Whitehead of Chattanooga; Howard Lewis of Franklin and Keith (Angela) Lewis of Hendersonville; Brother James (Justine) Ewton of Dunlap: grandchildren: Kelly (Ryan) McGill, Austin Lewis, Jackson Lewis, Haley Lewis and Julia Lewis: great grandchildren: Carson, Paige and Peyton McGill: Nieces; Diane Hayes, Susan Hixson and Christy Boring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Creek Church of Christ, 985 Runyan Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37405. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Monday at Lane Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Lane Funeral Home with Minister Gary Massey and Minister Ken Chambers officiating. Interment will follow in Collier Cemetery in Bledsoe County.
