Patricia Treppard

May 30, 1943 ~ September 13, 2022 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Tribute

Patricia Anne (Morris) Treppard, 79, passed away peacefully at her Chattanooga home on September 13, 2022, surrounded by her family.  Patricia was a loving, generous woman who enjoyed nothing more than giving of herself to family and friends.  She lived her life and its many joys and hardships with understated grace, dignity and strength.  All who were fortunate to know Patricia will miss her.

The oldest of four children, Patricia was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to the late Charles Roy and Margaret Coode Morris, both of Nashville.  The family moved numerous times during Patricia’s early years before settling in Chattanooga.

In 1961, Patricia was invited on a blind date to attend church with Carl Owsley Treppard.  It was love at first sight, and for six weeks the two spoke every night before sneaking off to elope in Georgia.  She was still a senior in high school!  The two remained devoted and married for 52 years until Carl’s passing in 2013.  During their marriage, they worked together at TVA and CADAS and retired in the early 2000’s.

Patricia was a loving mother to her and Carl’s three children – Debra (John) Gilluly, Michael Treppard and the late Tony Treppard.  Debra is a nurse practitioner and lives with her family in Austin, Texas.  Michael is a drug and alcohol counselor and resides in Chattanooga.

During her later years, Patricia enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  They will always remember the laughter and good fun had around her kitchen island, while eating more than a few of her Christmas cookies and many other treats.

Patricia also spent many years sharing her love and faith as a volunteer with Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Memorial Hospital and Home Place.

Patricia is survived by seven beautiful grandchildren – Jessica (Alex) Spletzer, Matthew (Morgan) Treppard, Emma, Jake, Maggie and Charlie Gilluly, and Alex Treppard.  She is survived by five precious great-grandchildren – Alex and Jace Spletzer, Maddox and Emersyn Treppard and Isaiah Treppard.

Patricia is also survived by her brother Roy (Leslie) Morris, sister Mary Lou (Sam) Jackson, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.  In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Carl Treppard, son Tony Treppard, grandson James Treppard and brother Tony Morris.

Patricia’s family would like to give special thanks to Art Massey.  Throughout her life, Patricia devoted herself to caring for everyone around her, and Art provided Patricia with loving companionship and generous support in her later years which she treasured.

The family would also like to thank the staff at Tennessee Oncology and Hospice of Chattanooga.

The family will receive visitors at Lane Funeral Home on Friday, September 16th from 6:00-8:00pm. The funeral mass will be on Saturday, September 17th at Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 11:00am followed by a luncheon at the church.
