Mary Grace Smith

Lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Mary Grace Smith, passed away late evening on January 9, 2019, at the age of 76. She was recovering from complications related to a stroke in which she suffered earlier in 2018; but increased late onset seizures in December led to insurmountable complications. Her final days were with family and friends in the loving care of the Hospice of Chattanooga.

Mary Grace was born on May 26, 1942, grew up in the Avondale Community, graduated from Central High School in 1960, and worked for several decades at Dixie Yarns. We’ll remember her endearing personality, gracious nature, and adventurous spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents Eskey and Mary (Morgan) Smith.

Survived by brother, Jerry Smith, of Chattanooga; niece, Terri (Doug) Velliquette, and grand-nephew Zan Killeffer, both of Knoxville; plus her cat, Loki.
