Mary Moon Ballard Born of this world August 13, 1957. Passed away June 14, 2019.
Mary was known to her friends as a fun-loving, quirky companion, full of laughter and unexpected humor. She attended Lookout Mountain Elementary School, Bright School, Girls Preparatory School, and UT Knoxville. She received honorary membership to Terpsichored for her enthusiasm and interpretation of modern dance. She was invited to join the Mensa society. She tried her hand at a variety of endeavors helping others streamline and organize their work and life spaces making use of Feng Shui. Her creativity and innate sense of beauty and style expressed itself in her work as a professional organizer. Mary’s interest in spiritual development was intense and led her to explore many local churches where her awareness of Christ’s love was a source of enrichment to all congregants.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn Gamble Moon; grandparents: Shannon Gamble (Essie), William Deaderick Moon (Elsie)
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Arthur Ballard; father, William Deaderick Moon, Jr. (Janet) of Chattanooga, TN; brothers: John D. Moon (Clare) of Signal Mtn. TN, Shannon G. Moon (Skylla) of Chattanooga, TN, Shelby Z. Moon (Coleen) of Albuquerque, NM.
Visitation will be Friday June 21, 2019 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace. A celebration of life will follow at 6:00 pm in the chapel. A graveside service for family and friends will be held Saturday June 22. 2019 at 11:00 am at Forest Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, or to a local charity of your choice.
