John “Ted” Bratcher, Sr., 89, of Red Bank, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2021 at his home. Ted was born the son of (the late) Claude Sr. and Marguerite (Dietzen) Bratcher on July 17, 1931. He is a veteran of the US Navy and retired schoolteacher and barber. He was a faithful member of Red Bank Baptist Church and was also very active with Red Bank Lions Club for 25 years and a true icon of our community. After retiring, he stayed busy working outside and always enjoyed the other fun projects with his sons. Ted enjoyed the snow and the travels he and Judy would take and time with the family at Cedars of Lebanon State Park. The memories of the swing at the cabin will never be forgotten. He is preceded in death by daughter, Alisa (Bratcher) McMahan, brothers: Claude, Jr., Bob, Jimmy, Nick and great-grandson, Hunter. He leaves behind: wife of 31 years, Judy (Belcher) Bratcher, children: Ted (Becky) Bratcher, Jr., Wayne (Sha) Bratcher, Angel (Jim) Kelly, Susan (Keith) Burdette, Jan (Richie) Tanksley, Denise (Kent) Crumbaugh, Greg (Saundra) Thomas, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and loving friends. A private visitation will be at Lane Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery at 11am EST, January 19th, 2021 with Rev. Bill Harvey officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Red Bank Lions Club or Red Bank Baptist Church.
