Frances Page Nevels

Frances Jones Nevels, 80, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 11, 2018. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother and will be truly missed. She worked for many years in various aspects of retail, as well as Coca Cola Company and retired from Provident Insurance Company. She loved music, birdwatching and flowers. Frances was active in her church, St. Elmo United Methodist.

With her husband, Frances co-founded PFLAG and worked tirelessly for 27 years giving compassion, care and love to the community. She made a tremendous positive impact.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Stephen.

Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Matt; their children: Vicki, Tim and Keith; eight grandchildren; and six great-grands; brother, J. P. Jones; many nieces and nephews. Frances was part of a large family and beloved by them all.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chattanooga Cares or Rees Skillern Cancer Center.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Friday at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace with Reverend Gary Ihfe and Reverend Debra Dickerson officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 pm on Thursday and one hour prior to service on Friday, also at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace, 877-3524, www.lanefh.com.
