Elbert Ernest Kelley was welcomed into the arms of his Heavenly Father on July 15, 2021. Born in 1933 to James and Ida Kelley, he was one of ten siblings raised in the music and fellowship of God’s love. Whether from the pulpit or his kitchen table, he lived his life with a passion for sharing song and scripture, helping others understand the Word and Love of our Savior. Ernest was a dedicated family man who loved his daughters, Darlene Johnston, Polly Carlen, and Beth Carlen (departed), his Grandchildren Hailey, James, and Jacob Whitaker, and several nieces and nephews. Firmly believing in the promise of being reunited in Heaven, he is once again holding the hand of his loving wife of 44 years, Saralyn Green Kelley. A Navy veteran of the Korean War, Ernest will be interred with honors in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Pastor Donald Kelley, his beloved brother, will officiate. In lieu of flowers: Shriners Hospital for Children or Gary Sinise Foundation for Veterans . Arrangements entrusted to Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga TN 37415 www.lanefh.com 423-877-3524.
