Derrick Mathis was born July 30, 1973 in Atlanta, Georgia to proud parents of Edwina Willis Roberts and now deceased father Arthur Warmoth Mathis.
Derrick attended Benjamin E. Mays High School. He loved sports, fishing, travelling, dressing to look his best and partying. Derrick eventually moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee where he was surrounded by family and friends.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, one daughter, Damahya; sisters and brothers: Kelvin (BO) Willis, Willie (Pookie) Willis, Anthony Mathis, Cynthia Willis-Kendall (Tommy), Sharron Hines and Eric Mathis; and roommate, William Jordan.
