Daniel Hixson Barrett was born April 23, 1955 and passed away April 4, 2019.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stanton Harold Barrett, Jr and his mother, Betty Ann Hixson Barrett.
He is survived by his brother, Stanton Harold Barrett III (wife, Leslie); and his sisters, Catherine Barrett Flores (husband, Javier) and Elizabeth Barrett Cobb (husband, Chris); an uncle, James Taylor “J.T.” Hixson; as well as five nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, and many good friends.
As a young man Dan was employed as a leather worker at Sears, which he truly enjoyed. He was very artistic as a child and loved to draw. He was a lifelong member of 2nd Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Hixson High School, then attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and received an associate’s degree from Cleveland State Technical Community College.
Life handed Dan more than his share of challenges, yet he lived out his life remarkably well. Many who knew him speak of his intelligence, humor, and sweetness. He enriched our lives, and we will miss him.

Visitation is 4:00-8:00 pm Saturday at Lane Funeral Home~Ashland Terrace and 3:00-4:00 pm Sunday at 2nd Presbyterian Church. Funeral services are 4:00 pm Sunday at 2nd Presbyterian Church. Burial is private.
