Charles Robinson "Chuck Robins", 77, of Ooletawah, passed away July 30, 2022 at his home. He was a member of the Ooltewah Church of God and the American Legion Post 40 in Ringgold. He also served as Capt. Of the S.A.L. Chuck served the U.S. Army during Vietnam and the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Mary Robinson; two sisters, Ellen & Penny; son, Charles Wallace; brother, “Ed” Robinson.
Chuck Robins was known as a drummer for 73 years and played many genres of music, from “Big Band” Rock, Jazz, Symphony, Orcherstras, Southern Gospel, and Country Music. He has played and sang oon several recordings both on T.V. and in studios. Chuck played for many of the Grand Ole Opry stars including Willie Nelson, Roy Clark and several more traveling the country. After leaving Nashville he came to live in the southeast and played some local gigs.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Robinson; sons, Jim Robinson and Craig Bailey; daughters: Lisa Ann Abercrombie and Christine Nicole Robinson, sixteen grandchildren, nineteen great- grandchildren; one niece, one nephew, and three cousins.
Visitation will be held 4-8 PM, Sunday, August 7, 2022 and 11-12 PM, Monday, August 8, 2022, with a Funeral Service to follow at 12 PM, in the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 PM in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
