Betty Ann Weiss

Betty-Ann (Belshaw) Weiss, 94, passed away into the arms of our Lord on Monday, November 9, 2020, at her residence at Alexian Village on Signal Mountain, TN. She was formerly a resident of Deland, FL. She was born on August 24, 1926, to Archie Joel and Bernice L. (Bruce) Belshaw in Rockford, IL. She was a graduate of Ho-no-ne-gah High School, Rockton, IL and Millikin University, Decatur, IL and married the love of her life, Daniel R. Weiss on June 11, 1948. She was a member of First Centenary United Methodist Church, Chickamauga Chapter NSDAR and previously involved in music ministries, Stetson University Chorale, an avid golfer until age 90, competitive bridge player and church and community volunteer. Betty-Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son, Richard S. Weiss, sisters, Mary B. Davis and Evelyn B. Trembath. Survivors include her daughters, Laurie Weiss (James) Schwartz and Susan Weiss (Paul) Scates, grandchildren, Anna Eady, Amanda (Grady) Phillips, James (Catherine) Schwartz, great-grandchildren, Wynn and Audrey Eady, Alice and Eleanor Phillips, and Finley Schwartz, sister Audrey Belshaw Johnson of Rockford, IL. Visitation will be 12:30-2:00 PM Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Lane Funeral Home with Inurnment to follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery at 2:30 PM. Memorials may be made to First Centenary United Methodist Church CEC (Children’s Enrichment Center) or Music ministries.
