Annie Culp

Ann Culp passed away peacefully on July 28, 2018 at Life Care Center of Collegedale. She was born October 29, 1925. She was married to Zina M. Culp for 41 years. In 1972 Zina had a stroke that affected half of his body, Ann nursed and cared for him until his death in 1987. They met through a mutual friend and exchanged letters while he served in the Army during World War II. He was released from service in 1945. Shortly thereafter he came to Chattanooga to officially meet Ann and win the approval of her parents. They were married four months later, and the rest is history.
She is survived by her loving nieces and nephews; Sandy (John) Finck, Pam Berkley, Lesley Mitts, Doug (Kim) Swafford, Steve Swafford, Tracy (Rodney) Wooten, several grand (great) nephews and nieces. Ann attended Red Bank United Methodist Church for many years.
We give thanks to the nurses and aides, at Summit View Assisted Living and Life Care Center of Collegedale, that cared for her and survived her strong and witty nature.
The family will receive guests at Lane Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. The funeral will be held in the chapel of Lane Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Internment to follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
