The Reverend R. Harold Buck, 88, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 in El Paso, Texas. He was born January 22, 1930 to Whitley and Henrietta Buck in Cookeville, Tennessee.
Reverend Buck was ordained in 1952, The Methodist Church (later became The United Methodist Church), pastored churches in Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, and Texas and as the District Superintendent of the Big Stone Gap District, Holston Conference. He served nearly 63 years in the ministry.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Marvin E. Buck, William L. Buck.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Peggy Golston Buck (married in 1954 in Palmer, TN); sons: Mr. Robert H. Buck, Jr. (Lee Ann) of Ponte Vedra, FL; Mr. Reginald P. Buck (Angelica) of El Paso, TX; Rev. Rowland S. Buck (Sinda) of Signal Mountain, TN; grandchildren: Alejandra Buck (El Paso), Caleb Buck (Kodak, TN), Marcus Buck (El Paso, TX), Christopher Buck (Signal Mountain, TN); great-granddaughter: Sauphia Buck; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Red Bank United Methodist Church.

Visitation is 4:00-7:00 pm Sunday, January 28, at Lane Funeral Home, and 12:00–1:00 pm Monday, January 29, at Red Bank United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Monday, January 29 at Red Bank United Methodist Church with the Rev. Donald Smith officiating.
